Enjoy fresh, simple, home cooked food served in your apartment every morning then venture out to take in the surroundings. Discover historic houses, beautiful gardens, dramatic coastline and explore peaceful countryside and hamstone villages. At the end of the day unwind in a luxury bathroom, with warm fluffy towels and sleep in a big comfy bed, under fresh white cotton sheets.
Rock House delivers individually designed spacious rooms, each with their own sitting room, en-suite bathroom, king size bed, walled garden, wireless broadband internet access, digital television DVD/CD player and radio, tea and coffee with fresh milk, fridge (with mini-bar), selection of books, range of toiletries, hairdryer, newspaper on request.
Wherever possible Rock House use fresh local produce and cook simple food with love and care. Breakfast is served in your apartment every morning. This could be a quick toast and coffee before work or full English breakfast while reading the morning paper. By prior arrangement we can also provide afternoon teas. Menus change with the seasons, to make the most of fresh ingredients at their best and we are happy to cater for special dietary needs.
South Petherton is surrounded by a wealth of nationally renowned gardens including, East Lambrook Manor made famous by Margery Fish, the sheer scale and drama of Stourhead, Barrington Court, the Elizabethan house at Montacute with its famous formal gardens, Tintinhull House, Lytes Cary Manor, Forde Abbey and Hestercombe House. There are many beautiful villages, towns and cities close by. Visit Bath for its Roman baths and Georgian architecture, Bristol for the theatre and newly restored dockland area, or Wells and Exeter for their exceptional cathedrals. Nearer still is Sherborne famous for its castle, abbey and a wealth of individual shops. The river Parrett passes through the Parish of South Petherton, the course of which can be walked from the source in Dorset to the coast in North Somerset, by following the Parrett Trail. Exmoor and the Quantock hills are also within easy reach. The local coastline varies, from traditional seaside sandy beaches, such as Weymouth, to the dramatic cliffs and fossils of Lyme Regis.
