Information

I offer lessons in piano, clarinet, singing, bass guitar, music theory and composition, keyboard harmony, musicianship and aural awareness. All ages are welcome and you can either take grades with ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, Rockschool or Trinity Rock and Pop, or learn purely for pleasure.

Learning an instrument can give many hours of pleasure and a real sense of achievement.

I support the individual by tailoring my teaching method to suit each student. I listen to what students have to say and help them to express themselves and explore their own musical ideas.

I aim to encourage a love for their instrument and support them through their journey of learning, playing and performing

I have an ALCM (TD) diploma, grade 8 in piano, clarinet and singing, A level music theory, and an MBA. I have been teaching for many years and regularly perform in a band at various venues around Suffolk. I am a member of the Musicians’ Union

Each year some of my students take part in the Suffolk Festival of Performing Arts. It is a wonderful opportunity for amateur musicians to broaden their performance experience and pianists, string and wind players, singers, dancers and choirs are invited to take part. I also hold an annual concert when students can play solos, or if they wish, can join others to play duets or form groups including a wind group and rock band.

Lessons are normally held weekly at my home teaching studio in Trimley St Martin which offers easy access from Ipswich, Woodbridge and Felixstowe.

Fees are £14.50 for a 30 minute lesson (£29.00
