Revolution changes the world but not everything can be revolutionary. The wheel was a great invention that we could not do without and there is always something that is ‘the best thing since sliced bread’. There have been several inventions better than sliced bread though, the internal combustion engine for example, defibrillators, wine, books, those sticks you can get for scratching your back, mobile telephones, the internet, watches, space ships, jet packs (although not for personal use yet!) tea, coffee, long lunches, holidays Tuesdays, wine again, squirrels . . .

You get the point. Sliced bread was still a good idea and saves time in the morning and stops you from creating as much mess. It means the kids aren’t going around the kitchen wielding sharp knives, all-be-it with a bevelled edge. It makes life a little simpler, a little easier when you need it and makes you think to yourself ‘that was a good little idea.’
