Information

My name is Helen Wall, a practitioner of Chinese Medicine in the West Midlands for more than 27 years and I have treated a very wide range of health problems, physical, psychological and emotional as well as spiritual.

Well respected, tried and tested for over 3000 years, Chinese Medicine can offer so much to help you deal with the challenges to your health in today’s world.

If you were to ask 100 people about their health, I bet you would be hard pushed to find even one of them that felt 100% healthy, full of energy and free from stress and worry. It is a sad reflection of our 21st century life, isn’t it?

Am I right in thinking that the reasons you are visiting this website are that you -

• Suffer from a health problem for which you want to find relief?

• Seek to improve your energy – your ‘get up and go’ that seems to have ‘got up and gone’?

• Trying to recapture that ‘on top of the world’ feeling good factor?

• Feel there has to be more to life than what you are experiencing right now?

• Fed up with being on medication with potentially nasty side effects?

• Want solutions that treat the root of your problem, not just the symptoms?

• Looking for a more rounded holistic approach to put you back on track?

Chinese medicine is a whole lot more than simply acupuncture and herbs. It is firmly rooted in a deep understanding of the interconnectedness between our mind and body as part of a greater energy system. This life force energy or ‘qi’ flows through subtle pathways in the body called meridians, which are responsible for the harmonious working of both the mind and body.

What is going on in your mind such as worry, anxiety or fear can have a profound effect on the health and functioning of your body. Likewise pain or discomfort in your body can disturb your mind and how you feel.

On the other hand, a happy heart and a cheerful outlook go a long way towards maintaining a healthy body.

Western medicine unfortunately tends to see symptoms in isolation rather than as part of a fuller picture of your overall health. This can mean that a patient is for instance, given medication for their heartburn, another for their arthritis and another for their migraines.

A good practitioner of Chinese medicine will look at these symptoms in the context of the whole person as they are, emotionally, mentally and physically. They will ‘see’ patterns of disharmony in the energy system that come from the same root, even though the symptoms may be many and varied. Each symptom is like a jigsaw puzzle piece that is a part of a much larger picture.

Herein lies part of the great wisdom of Chinese medicine and why it has stood the test of thousands of years, as a beautiful and very effective system of healing. This wisdom underpins all the techniques Chinese medicine has in its arsenal – acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion, herbal medicine, diet, exercise (such as Tai Chi and Qi Gong), massage, meditation and making lifestyle changes.

My passion is to help as many people as possible to re-discover their true self, regain their health and be happy. Chinese medicine is a part of that journey.

So let me travel with you on your return journey to health, happiness and a long life!
