Mr D. I. Evans, the father of Mr Elfed Evans, started the business in 1946 as D. I. Evans & Sons, specialising in Agricultural Contracting and Plant Hire.

In 1983 upon the retirement of Mr D. I. Evans, a partnership was formed between Mr Elfed Evans and his wife Mrs Janet Evans. The partnership continued to trade under the title of D. I. Evans & Sons until 2003, when a decision was made to become a limited company trading as D. I. Evans Cyf. Currently another generation of the family has taken over the running of the business.
Over the years the business has continued to develop and change in response to current needs and demands.
The service of agricultural contracting is now minimal due to decrease in demand, and diversification into waste disposal that at present is the growing part of the business.
The premises at Beulah is a Transfer Station for biodegradable waste with full planning permission and licensed by the Environment Agency. The emphasis at the site is on recycling as much waste as possible. With the increasing demand for recycling, the directors of D. I. Evans Cyf feel that this is the way forward for the prosperity of the business.
