Information

Neil began as a stone carver by following in his father’s footsteps after leaving school. He served an apprenticeship for over 7 years, following which he became self-employed in monumental and architectural carving. Neil has worked on commissions such as
Ely Cathedral (lettering of interior wall plaques),

Central Criminal Court (Portland stone, hand carved and gilded letters),

Hill Samuel Bank (supplying, lettering and carving external slate facia) and

Harrods (lettering of plaque to commemorate opening of new Food Hall).

In 1990 Neil established his own monumental masonry business located in Burnham-on-Crouch, supplying stones and lettering on a direct basis as well as offering a specialist service for design and carving to other local masons.

Since 1997 Neil has been working at Highgate Cemetery creating memorials on site. He also works to private commission at his studio in Sudbury, Suffolk.
