Situated in 20 acres of stunning Surrey countryside, only a few miles from Guildford, Cliff Hatch Riding School offers lessons to riders of all ages and abilities from the age of 5 and up.

Established in Mayford for 20 years, the riding school is owned and run by Denise Passant – a former gold medal winner with the GB Endurance Riding Team, who still regularly assists the GB Team as a Development Coach.

From individual beginners riding lessons to day camps, Cliff Hatch Riding School is proud to offer a friendly, caring and tailored approach to equestrianism, whatever your ability. All group lessons are graded to ensure that riders are of a similar standard, ensuring that you continue to learn and develop as a rider in a consistent manner.

Is the Surrey weather looking a little unsettled? With an indoor riding school, it doesn’t matter what the weather’s like outside – Cliff Hatch Riding School is always open.

Riding for Younger Children

For children under 5 who are unable to take part in full riding lessons, the riding school near Guildford has two beautiful Shetland ponies that provide younger children with the opportunity to enjoy a gentle walkabout and gain experience in the saddle.

Day Camps

Is an hour’s lesson just not enough?

Cliff Hatch Riding School runs day camps during each school holiday, as well as two day courses, run in conjunction with Woking Borough Council.

Therapeutic Riding

Also known as adaptive riding or equine-assisted activity, therapeutic horseback riding has been proven to be highly beneficial for children and adults with a range of physical, emotional or cognitive conditions.

Cliff Hatch Riding School’s instructors are fully qualified and licensed to offer therapeutic riding lessons to children and young adults with disabilities, helping them make a positive change in their lives.
